This Privacy Policy explains how LaserTools.ai (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our platform.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a cryptographic hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Uploaded Content

We store images, 3D models, point clouds, and other files you upload to process through our tools. This content is stored securely and used only to provide the services you request.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the platform, including pages visited, features used, job history, credit usage, and timestamps. This helps us improve the service and diagnose issues.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers to manage your billing.

Technical Data

We may collect your IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system for security, analytics, and service improvement purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the LaserTools.ai platform.
  • To process your uploaded content and deliver results.
  • To manage your account, subscriptions, and credit balance.
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts).
  • To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, and security issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the platform (e.g., Stripe for payments, AWS for infrastructure, AI model providers for processing). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • Law enforcement: When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4. AI Processing

Content you upload may be processed by AI models to generate outputs (e.g., 3D meshes, point clouds, edited images). We do not use your uploaded content or generated outputs to train AI models. Your content is processed on-demand and is not shared with or accessible to other users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Uploaded content and generated outputs may be automatically deleted after a retention period (currently 30 days of inactivity on project data). You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page, which will disable your account and begin the data deletion process.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all communications.
  • Encryption at rest for stored data.
  • Passwords stored using bcrypt with a high cost factor.
  • Role-based access controls for internal systems.
  • Regular security reviews.

No system is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

We use cookies for essential platform functionality, including authentication sessions, invite key tracking, and user preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.

LaserTools.ai is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using LaserTools.ai, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
